Islington Peppermint makes for a really interesting specimen plant an is from a cross between P. tomentosum and P. 'Splendide'. It has soft green leaves with a distinct peppermint fragrance and produces small but stunning flowers.
Islington Peppermint can be a bit of a challenge to grow and propagate, we often find some years we can grow it in abundance and some years we struggle to keep the mother plants alive!!
Introduced by a Dutch nursery around 1991 this was raised by Diana Hull around 1980 and registered with the British Pelargonium and Geranium Society (now The Pelargonium and Geranium Society, PAGS).
By far our largest group of Pelargoniums in our collection - Scented-leaved Pelargoniums (Geraniums) are a delightful group of plants that boast attractive leaves infused with a captivating array of pleasant and intriguing scents. These botanical wonders not only feature small, abundant flowers that emerge in the spring and early summer but also add a unique charm to any garden.
