Gladys Evelyn is a rosebud Pelargonium which has deep vibrant magenta-red flowers with deep dark leaves. It has a compact growth habit.
This is a variety we hold in our collection but will only be releasing it in limited numbers through the season.
Rosebud Pelargonium first appeared by a spontaneous mutation around 1850. Swiftly gaining popularity the flowers were often used for floral arrangements as well as buttonholes. They are a type of Zonal Pelargoniums (Geraniums) which have a bushy habit and fleshy stems. After falling out of fashion for a while the Rosebud varieties seem to be picking up in popularity once again with some interesting developments happening hybridisers.
These plants are supplied in a 6cm biodegradable pot which you can put straight into the pot or location you wish. As time goes on the pot will simply compost down and the plant will happily grow on.
