P. zonale is a species Pelargonium that has vivid pink single flowers. The plant grows in an upright shrubby habit with striking leaves that have an almost scalloped edge to them with a prominent dark done in the centre.
Native to South Africa this species was hybridised with other species, including P. fulgidum and P. inquinans, to create many of the modern cultivars of Zonal Pelargoniums (or Geraniums) that are used as bedding plants to. It has been documented in Europe since the 1700s.
These plants are supplied in a 6cm biodegradable pot which you can put straight into the pot or location you wish. As time goes on the pot will simply compost down and the plant will happily grow on.

Growing media: A loam based compost or a good quality multipurpose compost.
