This Regal Pelargonium has an upright habit with a stunning flower of deep velvety dark purple black with each petal edged with a narrow streak of light pink/red - it really does stand out.

Whilst an old favourite of ours, 'Lord Bute' has been around a lot longer than any of us here - it's been around since about 1910!!  It is named after the third Earl of Bute, John Stuart, who became Prime Minister of England.

(As seen on the front cover of Gardeners World magazine's 2 for 1 Gardens booklet!)

Regal pelargoniums are a diverse, flamboyant and colorful group of plants that stand out from the Zonal types in the pelargonium family. With an impressive range of colors, from deep blacks to pure whites, their flowers are some of the most vibrant in the genus.

Despite their stunning appearance, regal pelargoniums are easy to grow, making them a perfect choice for amateur gardeners. These plants require only frost-free conditions in the winter and benefit from low light and short day conditions, which help them to grow without budding prematurely.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, regal pelargoniums are sure to impress with their striking beauty and ease of care.  We only grow our Pelargoniums (Geraniums) in small batches of different varieties and make some of these plants available for you to buy online.

We have over 200 different varieties in our Pelargonium collection and offer a selection of them for sale.

We do not supply cuttings, small or jumbo cuttings, our plants are supplied in a 6cm biodegradable pot which you can put straight into the pot or location you wish.  As time goes on the pot will simply compost down and the plant will happily grow on.

How to care for your plant:

If used as summer bedding plant at least 40cm apart.
Remove dead flowers regularly and feed once a week with a high potash feed (a good tomato feed will do it!) to encourage a better & longer flowering season.
Water well, then allow compost to dry before watering again.
