Triumph at Blenheim Palace Flower Show 2024: Gold Medal and Best in Show!
After months of meticulous preparation and countless stressful moments, we are overjoyed to share the news of our triumphant debut at the Blenheim Palace Flower Show 2024. Our efforts culminated in a breathtaking display on Floral Street, and we are thrilled to announce that we not only won a Gold Medal but also scooped the prestigious Best in Show award!
The Journey to Success
From finalising every detail of our display to baking and sharing Pelargonium cake, and informing visitors about these remarkable plants, our team worked tirelessly. Our hard work paid off, and the recognition we received for the quality of our plants and the creativity of our display has left us overwhelmed and elated.
Showcasing Pelargonium Versatility
Our goal was to demonstrate the versatility and diversity of Pelargoniums. From their various species to modern cultivars, and even their use in medicinal applications and baking, we aimed to showcase the many facets of these delightful plants. The highlight for many visitors was the chance to enjoy our Pelargonium cake, made using scented Pelargonium leaves—a unique treat that captivated many taste buds.
Sharing Our Passion
A memorable moment of the show was our talk on the live stage on Sunday. We had the opportunity to share our passion for Pelargoniums and answer numerous questions from the audience. The feedback was great, with one listener remarking that they had learned more about Pelargoniums in the 20 minutes of the talk than in 20 years of growing them! For those who attended and witnessed my enthusiastic pruning, rest assured, no plant was harmed during the demonstration - they are healthy and regrowing beautifully.
A Special Thanks
The show was a fantastic experience for our entire team, who were kept on their toes by the watchful eye of our very own Pelargonium Princess, our 14-week-old Labrador puppy. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who visited our stand, engaged in conversations with us, and supported us in creating our display. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making our exhibit a success.
Looking Ahead
Winning the Gold Medal and Best in Show award at our first major flower show is a tremendous honour.
