This is an interesting variety which not only produces large red flowers with a white underside but also has bold yellow-green leaves with a deep brown zone to them.
'Brighstone' was raised by Brian West, Isle of Wight, UK.
Rosebud Pelargonium first appeared by a spontaneous mutation around 1850. Swiftly gaining popularity the flowers were often used for floral arrangements as well as buttonholes. They are a type of Zonal Pelargoniums (Geraniums) which have a bushy habit and fleshy stems. After falling out of fashion for a while the Rosebud varieties seem to be picking up in popularity once again with some interesting developments happening hybridisers.
